Marrowbone Lane is one of Dublin’s oldest and most storied streets, located in the historic Liberties area, an epicentre of industry, resilience and community. Dating back to the 17th century, it has long been associated with skilled trades, distilling, and the independent spirit of the city’s south side.
Marrowbone Lane Irish Whiskey (MLIW) takes its name from this iconic street as a tribute to the generations who lived and worked there, including the coopers, distillers, and merchants who shaped Dublin’s whiskey heritage. The brand honours that legacy with whiskey that is carefully crafted, rooted in tradition, and proudly Irish.

Marrowbone Irish Whiskey takes its name from Marrowbone Lane in Dublin 8 — a storied part of the Liberties, once the beating heart of Irish whiskey. In the late 19th century, this district housed some of the world’s largest distilleries, and exported more whiskey than Scotland. Marrowbone Lane itself was known for its working-class resilience and revolutionary spirit, deeply tied to the city’s industrial and cultural past.
